wiper rack

I am getting to the last of the welding on the lh front inner wing which will mean removing the wiper mechamism, it is also seized somewhere, please can someone advise how the rack comes out.

What year is the car? On the later ones, remove the wiper arms, then it's often simplest to remove the wiper motor and pull the flexible rack out in one go, but you can also take the lid off the motor and disassemble sufficiently to pull the rack on its own. Once the rack is out, then remove glove boxes to gain access to the guide tubes and wiper boxes. There are small nuts holding the backs of the wipre boxes in place. Loosen sufficiently to remove the tubes. The boxes themselves are released by unbdoing the chrome nut where the arms fit on the spindles.
