Sump gasket
Hi has anyone got any advice I have recently changed my sump gaskets because both ends were leaking where you put the small gaskets. When I replaced them I noticed the ones on the car were plastic and my replacement ones were cork after two days dry thay are both now leaking again. Is there anything I can do to make these a permanent seal. Many thanks.

Re: Sump gasket
The plastic one's are actually synthetic rubber seals from the 1275 engine which have to be cut back to size for the smaller engines with a hacksaw as there is a reinforcing wire moulded in. I find these are far superior than the cork and wouldn't use anything else. We have fitted these to many cars with great success.
