The numbers stamped on unit are 54210104. FR73 could you let me know the brushes to order

Photo Please. A C39 dynamo will take C39 brushes and a C40 dynamo will take C40 brushes. Dynamo should have date stamped on it eg 7/68

Are the brushes inserted from the side ... Or in the end?
