Hi,
I use clean water with a little detergent and a good leather to clean the glass. To dry, I use a window cleaner's 'blade' plus a cotton towel (a tea towel is ideal) for edging. Alternatively, dry with a leather and polish with the cotton towel. Spray cleaners are quite useful but you need lots of paper towels to wipe off afterwards.
Don't bother if the sun is shining on the glass!
I am a Civic Chauffeur and even if the car gets dirty while we are out, we can at least ensure the glass remains sparkling!

If you have got a stubborn film on the glass try some vinegar and water mix. An old fashioned fix for an old fashioned car :D. A drop in the washer bottle does no harm either, not too much though or people will smell you coming

For a maintenance clean I can totally recommend showroom shine, its what I use regularly on the car when I come back to clean the dust and dirt off, get the bugs off and keep her looking good. Great on the glass as well which it says it can be used for.

As said vineger added to the water is really good and helps cut grease.

Microfibre cloths are also excellent for car cleaning and polishing.

If it is an oil or grease problem then try methylated spirits.
