S.U Part No 4080 Petrol pump leak petrol

Hi the pump leak petrol when it work- i put a merror under the pump then start the car , i see petrol come out the small hole that close by the filter nut - what is the problem -

Is it a tell-tale hole to show that the diaphragm is leaking.

If it is the diaphragm tell tale then yes it will be split. But wait until someone confirms.

I think I read in the manual that for 'warmer climates' it prevents build-up of condensate in the housing although I guess if there is petrol draining through it then the diaphragm is leaking badly! I recently had a diaphragm fail with only a pinhole in the fuel side membrane and it wouldn't pump any fuel, buzzing away merrily. No fuel got past the second membrane.

my pump work fine yet - only leak fule in the hole - and can u tell me how to new diaphragm change

You may need to source a spare diaphragm first before disassembling your pump.
