1275 Marina Distributor

Post by MrIan »

Hi all, what do people recomend as a replacement Dizzy for the Marina 1275 engine. Mine appears to be dated 01/ 69 so I doubt it's original anyway.
The number on the dizzy is 41148A.
Cheers.

Ok shall go for that as I'm sure the advance is wrong on mine, either due to age or miss matched dizzy.

Yes, it's connected now mind you but it just doesn't appear to have as much power as it should and also runs rougher almost as the revs increase. With the dizzy being quite old I thought I'd change it anyway.

The Marina/Ital was fitted with four distributers dependent upon application.
They are the
23D4 (HC), the 25D4 (LC), the 43D4 and the 45D4.
There are also two methods of securing the Marina/Ital distributer.
They are the clamp Pt No 3H2128 (MOSS) around the base as per the Minor and the 'U' clamp secured by one bolt.
Unless my eyes deceive me the distributer in the link above is not listed as suitable for a 1.3 Marina.

All the dizzies listed above are secured by the pinch clamp with two screws into the adapter in the block. The A+ engine (Ital - not Marina ?) used the single bolt 'fork' retainer - and the 59D dizzy. So - if you have the 'fork' retainer - you need a 59D. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mini-A-1275cc ... 1e6afe76ff

It's got the pinch clamp mounting on it, so go with the 45D ?
