Re: Battery losing charge
Its no wonder it broke, they are a real pain to fit. Stevey had the seats out and was lying on his back with a hand lamp to see up in under the dash!
Heres the part, I think!

Re: Battery losing charge
Ahh - that's only for early cars - not for the Ign light 'in the speedo' cars. Is that what you need ?

Re: Battery losing charge
Mine is an early model q=without the large central speed. Mine is at the side .
The ignition red light was on top of the dash.

Re: Battery losing charge
When you say holder you mean the part the holds the lamp on the wiring loom as I think I have one spare.

Re: Battery losing charge
as far as i am aware the colour of the wire
Re: Battery losing charge
Where the light is in the speedo - the bulb holder is insulated from the body - and has two wires at the rear. I don't know about earlier 'dashboard' type - but the principle of the Ign Light requires current to flow through the bulb between the dynamo and the battery - or vice versa - there is no 'earth' contact through the holder.

Re: Battery losing charge
So,
Has anyone got a spare one?

Put a request in the Wanted section - it will get more viewings than on this thread? Contact Chris at Tom Roy - he often has second hand spares?

Re: Battery losing charge
If I were you I opt for the new one, I have around 4 of them and when we went to use one on Stevies car found them all to be faulty and needing repair. Lots of time was spent making a good one on what should have just been a refit job

Re: Battery losing charge
But there ARE NO new ones - of the type that fits in the speedo....which seems to be what's wanted, although it's all very confused from the Op....
