Wipers not self parking?

Post by amgrave »

Thought I would investigate why my clap hand wipers are not self parking. I lifted the cover off the gear wheel as I know the mechanism is under there and found that a part seems to be missing. I presume there should be something on the top of the shaft with a contact on it that earth’s to the brass plate in the cover. I would also guess the part is no longer available as it's not shown in the Moss Catalogue. Has anyone got a photo or drawing I could look at of the part so maybe I could fabricate a replacement of sorts.
Thanks in advance.[frame]Image[/frame]

Hi

I think this is what you need, not sure if this is exactly the same as a minor one but you can get an idea of how it should be.

Thanks Taupe, that does look like the part that is missing. It seems I have got the C clip but the wiper contact that should be under it is missing. How on earth did you manage to find the part, I have been looking and could not find it.

Just goes to show it's always worth asking as there is always someone on here that knows.

Many thanks again.
