Traveller window channels
Hi I have just replaces the sliding window channels on my traveller but they are far too tight? I have replaced them with the rubber ones. Do the chrome ones fit better on the bottom and can someone send me the link as to the best place to order them from? Thanks

Re: Traveller window channels
Just done mine too. I read Steve Foreman's chapters in Ray Newell's book and he gives the required distance between the 2 rails (365mm I think). I planed mine to achieve this and the glass slides much better now. I bought a rubber from ESM which was flat before assembly but finished up using a decent 'U' window channelling which I think came from Woollies. It is much more substantial and better suited to the job. I didn't change the outer stainless trimmed channels as they were in good condition. Don't forget the holes to match up with the drain holes in the wood.

36 point 5 mm?
Re: Traveller window channels
I am about to replace the rear window channels/ seals which I believe are referenced; TIM025 Sliding Window Channel (Bull Motif) but there appears to be various options: either plain or bright edged not too sure which is best, or who to get them from
Reading the Morris restoration manual it is not clear. I have just ordered Ray Newell's book
in the meantime any advice / comments would be appreciated

No, 36.5mm=1.5" approx in old money. I was referring to the vertical distance between the waist rail and the cant rail into which are fitted the upper and lower channels and the glass. This is 14.375" or 365mm.mike1864 wrote:36 point 5 mm?

Understood. I thought you had side to side "pinching" of the channel runners. I'll be refurbing mine in few weeks, so this 365mm figure will be useful.
