'Drove-it' 40 miles but didn't see a single classic yesterday. Was 'working' (Mace-Bearer) and couldn't join any local events but surprised how quiet it was on such a lovely day.[frame][/frame]

We managed to get thirty classics together for a run to Southport for a meal on the sea front (unfortunately you very rarely see the sea from the sea front at Southport )

Very nice selection of classics there and a nice day for it but only two Moggies................
I drive mine every day (except when using the MGB - off the road with a duff clutch at present), so I don't suppose that counts.....

My wife encountered 30 or so Minors in Swaledale - from the Newcastle upon Tyne branch, apparently.

Didn't see any Minors out and about round here, (all at Birmingham Rally poss?) Spotted was an MGB GT, Mk2 Jag and the two Railtons (which reside within a mile from me so that wasn't too surprising)...

Nill points for me though, only got the Land Rover on the road at the moment which at 21years old, I don't regard as classic (though some do). I did get a ride to the pub in one of the Railtons later in the afternoon so that cheered up the day a bit

I've got to get my head around this show/ drive it thing. I just drive mine all the time... Can take a long time to do the supermarket run though, 20 minutes in Morrisons car park today talking to an 85 yr old deaf chap who swore by riveting Morris panels together. Always worked for him apparently.

What was that special, which seemed to bear the name 'Royalle' in chrome script on the grill? A very nice period style open topped tourer, is it based on a Minor??

There were several Morris minors, travellers and convertibles at Dundee Transport Museum with varying degrees of originality. A couple of heavily modified split screens, military look traveller and some more standard cars.[frame][/frame][frame][/frame]

Surrey & Hants Borders Branch took part in a static display at the White Lion Antiques Centre, Hartley Wintney, for a breakfast meeting, and then a drive to the History On Wheels museum at Eton Wick, near Windsor.

Had a ride in this to the pub, which made up for the Minorless day. You can tell you're having fun by the flies in your teeth! Must try harder next time and use one of mine... If I'd had a working Minor to hand I would have gone to the Birmingham rally.

Looks very 'Railton', what is it based on?

It is a Railton! Its a special based on the 1935 Light Sports Tourer, but built on a 1936 chassis so a few inches longer and with hydraulic brakes. Not many folk can recognise a Railton...

Iain you didn't need a Minor - you could have come in anything and entered the Open class
