Hi all ,, Can someone tell me the correct way to set tappets and the correct clearance on my minor 1098

Rule of 9. When #1 valve is down, adjust #8 (1 + 8 = 9) etc etc. When unleaded fuel was introduced MG/Rover increased the A series valve gap (not tappets) settings to 15 thou. I commend that setting to you unless you have found a source of leaded fuel.... And no - 'additives' don't count, and are not necessary either....

Thanks Roy. I thought it was number one cylinder valves on the rock adjust third cylinder ?

That's not as precise...but will work if careful .... I stick with rule of 9.
