Well after a long winters work, a week shy of 5 months actually finally took the car for a drive today, very cautiously round the village first to make sure all was well, which it was so headed off for a trip up the sea front. She feels a different car and drives a different car.
The engine has been totally rebuilt, reground crank, new bearing shells, new little ends, new rings, new cam followers, new oil pump, new rocker assy and duplex timing chain fitted.
Gearbox stripped, all new bearings, new good laygear, 1st gear ring, 3rd gear and tailshaft bush.
Clutch and brake pedal assembly refurbished as was completely shot, new clutch linkage complete and new clutch.
Steering column stripped and refurbished
Heater stripped and refurbished
All engine ancillaries stripped, inspected and refurbished - dynamo, starter, dizzy
Carb rebuilt
Propshaft rebuilt - front UJ replaced as was tight
Numerous other small niggles, odd jobs and problems put right.
Everything cleaned, polished, plated or painted.
Thanks to everyone here thats answered my questions along the way over the last few months, now to enjoy her. Summer job is to get the workshop and garage extended so she has a proper home. And then to plan next winters work, rear suspension strip, refurbish and rebuild.

Re: Maisie moves
It sure was good to get behind the wheel again. It was thick fog along the front this evening, and still is here, had to find the light switch !, not very photogenic at all.
Needs some tweaks, and need to get her run in, not too much coming by the rings now but weve only had a fast idle on the drive and an 8 mile run this evening. Was amazing on the initial start as to the amount of blow by !.

Re: Maisie moves
Initially it would likely just be the assembly oil burning off. Well done getting it all together!

Re: Maisie moves
Would like to, there's the two main shows round here and she is getting towards a condition I would show her in now.
Seen a couple of Minors round here, I have a good vantage point living on the main road. May have even been you ☺
