Brake Judder/Wheel Wobble

Hi all....I see its been covered before but I have a problem with bad steering wheel wobble when braking.new drums and shoes fitted and if anything its worse!...just raising the issue again if anyone has recent similar probs...

I have no experience of this but if you put the old drum backs does it improve things ?.

It may be the drums or at least one of them has not been machined properly, the braking surface inside is not true to the machined face that sits on the hub.

No obvious burrs or dirt on the mating faces causing the drum to run out of true ?.

This is almost always down to worn out front suspension rubber bushes and/or trackrod ends.... It's very unlikely new drums will be out of true....but as above, the test is to refit the old drums. It may just seem worse because the brakes are actually working now with new parts fitted! :o

Thanks for the replies....I have been on checking today and def one trackrod end is worn but would'nt have thought bad enough to cause the problem though obviously needs replacing.Will check all bushes next..thanks .

I had brake judder from a worn fulcrum pin and the bronze part inside a bottom trunion. There lots of speeds bumps around were I live and I think the constant bumping is wearing the bronze away.


Too many Minors so little time.....

Thanks all again...Hi dave yes I thought about the trunion, never replaced them but well greased.I have not had time to investigate further yet.thnks.
