948 vs 1098?

Hi all
Contemplating a 948cc Minor. My only concern is that it won't have enough puff on long journeys. We live in Lancs, but regularly travel to the Lakes, South of England and Cornwall.
We had no problem on long journeys with our MG Midget, nor previous 1098cc Minors, tending to stick to the A roads where feasible.
Previous Minor happily went up some of the very steep passes in the Lakes, and some of the 1 in 4s in Cornwall. Would I be likely to be regretting downsizing to a 948cc do you think?

My 948 sits behind lorries on the motorway no problem at 55mph.

The 948 is widely considered to be the sweetest running of the A series engines and Jethro's 948 lump,although too slow for motorways, propels him along the country lanes very nicely.

You'll be FAR better with a 1098 - which can be easily upgraded to give a bit more power .

Hi,
1098 every day, better still upgrade to a 1275 out of an MG Midget, straight swap, you don't even have to alter the engine mounts.

Would say my 1958 948cc 2 door does have a very smooth engine and makes up for lack of power by its usability in most traffic conditions - It does feel very nice to drive !
