i tried another product recently, and it looks like being, if not the complete answer, the best solution so far.
it's called Farecla G3 professional paint restorer, and it seems to work best done in small increments, with vigorous application, followed by allowing it to dry before polishing. And then going over it with a wax polish.
The results so far are pretty good.

Yes thats the well recognised trade product for the task.To finish correctly use G10 after that.It removes the fine scratches left after the G3.

ok mick thanks.
i'll order some G10.
i did it with G3 a couple of weeks ago, so it might end up being a month before the G10 goes on top of it. Is that ok?
