ROSE TAUPE OR PEAT BROWN
The morris I have just bought,is brown, which I thought was RoseTaupe. However there are some spray tins with the car and they are Peat Brown, whoever he is!!! The chassis plate numbers are MAS5 and 1241214M,if anyone can help.I want to respray the car,but I do not want two different colours where I may have not resprayed

Re: ROSE TAUPE OR PEAT BROWN
Peat Brown replaced Rose Taupe around the end of 1967. They look quite different when parked next to each other but often confuse people. Both came with a red interior. Rose Taupe cars generally had off white colour wheels and a red coachline.
Peat Brown cars had silver wheels and a white coachline.
From the chassis number I'd guess your car was built around 1969 so would have been Peat Brown

Re: ROSE TAUPE OR PEAT BROWN
Good information in the post above.
Peat is a proper mid brown (left) Rose Taupe is more of a pastel colour with a hint of lavender in it (right). Personally, I like Rose Taupe a lot.[frame]

If it helps, I'd call Rose Taupe "Sludge Grey" - no offence to those who like the colour, I had one once.

Re: ROSE TAUPE OR PEAT BROWN
I always describe Rose Taupe as "Cadburys drinking chocolate" if anyone asks what colour my car is!

Re: ROSE TAUPE OR PEAT BROWN
Yes, the one on the left (Peat Brown) was mine. I sold it to fund the purchase an MG Midget. Thinking strongly about selling the Midget now and getting another Morris. I always wanted a Midget, now I have had that enjoyment, and am wanting to return to the fold!Peat is a proper mid brown (left) Rose Taupe is more of a pastel colour with a hint of lavender in it (right). Personally, I like Rose Taupe a lot.
