Well that was trickier than I expected. Definitely a faint stamping on all 5 wheels. Not easy to make out ( I had them shotblasted and repainted a few years back). Certainly all 5 digit stampings and final digit is '7' on 3 of the wheels. I'm pretty sure of a first digit 'L' on one. Perhaps I should clean some paint off to be sure? Previous owner had been a mechanic so he should have known what he was doing. He's no longer around to ask, sadly.

I think some standard rims were also stamped LP8-- (cannot remember the last two digits)
Some careful sanding, and some fine chalk rubbed in, will reveal the numbers, though it seems very likely they're LP917 van rims, so congrats!

another way of telling a 917 if you can not see the numbers is a yale key will fit exactly on the outside of the rim on the outer face

Thanks Chesney, its great to learn something new everyday, especially when it could be a safety issue. I'm more bothered about safety now the grandchildren are wanting to go out in the cars. Thanks for the Yale key tip 'aupickup', can't quite work out where I should stick it ( as the actress said.....)

Hello All
I have gone with the 155 Nankings.
£125 delivered and £30 to have fitted and balanced and new valves.

So happy with the prices but what I want to know is what tyres pressures you all run them at? and wheel nut torque setting?

Thank's

Manual quotes 37-39lb/ft for wheel nuts.
I run my Traveller (van rims) at 30PSI which it seems to like.

There's been some recent discussion on tyre pressures that you might want to check out. We all have slightly different views/experiences and you may want to experiment within the sensible range to see what you are happy with.

Hello All
Thank's for the replies I will try 28/30psi and see how they feel, but its not exactly F1 handling :o

I think my little Triumph Spitfire will stick to the road a little better?

28 psi suited the Nankangs on my Minor - a bit softer than Toyos need. They were very good at that pressure - 30 was a little too hard and made the car more skittish.

Actually, I think you might be surprised how well a Minor handles the corners with a decent set of tyres on. I don't hold up much traffic on the twisty roads :) I doubt you'll need pressures as high as 30psi but experiment a bit and find what suits you best.
