Window seal strips

Post by 67-2door »

Which is the best type of front side window sealing strips to fit? The original felt type or the modern rubber touch glass type?
I imagine the modern type keep water out of the door better, but does that matter as long as the drain holes aren't blocked?
Thanks.
Neil.

Rubber strips. Think of it as 'prevention is cheaper than the cure'.

Do you mean the seals in the window channels? If so, avoid the rubber ones available from the usual suppliers, as they don't fit. Have a look at the Woolies website - I got an alternative which works really well and stops the window rattling and keeps the draft out! If you mean the rubber strip on the door at the base of the window though, disregard this!

On my Travelller I fitted the rubber strips to the outside of the glass and trimmed them to size.
On my Series MM I fitted the fabric seals upside down with the stainless steal strips at the top as it looked tidier

Do you just put the touch glass type on the outside and an original felt type on the inside?
