Detailing paint colours

Post by markthe45king »

Hi

does anyone know if there are specific shades of white for wheels and the front grille? And am I ok to do these by hand, once I've cleaned, unrusted, treated the rust and primed?

And is there a specific red for the bonnet handle?

I'm finally - once the insurance sorts it - having a new rear wing and bumper and, separately doing the sills and kick plates, so she should be more car than rust in that area, so I thought I'd do some of the detailing too.

This is all of course assuming that taking the rear wing off doesn't just reveal an entire rear end consisting of bits of rust holding hands.

They were a specific white, Old English White (more of a cream white), or Snowberry white I think for later ones. I've found Ford Ivory White to be close enough to Old English in the past.
There was a recent discussion here on the Humbrol Enamel paint code for the bonnet emblem.
