Cheap Volt Meter
Anyone bought and used one of these ? Digital voltmeter, Only £1.29 ! it seems a bit cheap. Plugs into a cigarette socket. Hoping it wont overheat if left in socket say on a run ??

Re: Cheap Volt Meter
Thanks gents for feedback, interesting about not driving with it connected ? - The market all of a sudden seems flooded with these very cheap digital guages including some other designs that have permanent type terminals. They are listed within the same ebay catagory.
(However one to just plug in and test battery from time to time sounds useful at this very low price.)
I have 3 original Smiths (Amm: , Oil , Temp: ) personal choice, but one of these modern looking permanent ones won't match at all .
But are these other very cheap permanent intended ones regarded as adequately safe enough at this price for anyone actually wishing to install I wonder ??
They should presumably at least issue instructions to be wired into the ignition switched feed side not the permanent feed we hope ??

Re: Cheap Volt Meter
I found this one a few weeks back http://www.autoelectricalspares.co.uk/c ... 1859-p.asp. It should match the ones you have already.
Re: Cheap Volt Meter
The 'do not drive' instruction is simply to protect them from liability should you be 'distracted' by the gauge while driving - and have an accident!
