A friend of mine has been checking and the nearest they got was about 10 miles away as the others were already booked up. We are camping again tho to be in the middle of it all :D

I'm in Scarborough which is 20 miles away or York is 20 miles in the other direction.Plenty of accommodation in either,Malton is small so there's not so many options.

Having lived in East Yorkshire for many years previously. As has been said hotels nearby are 10 - 20 miles away. Malton itself is reasonably sized market town. another similar town is Pickering which further North of Malton again. Then you have the seaside towns of Scarborough and a bit further down the coast Bridlington. as has been mentioned York however there are other towns and cities within about an hours drive you have Hull, Beverley, Driffield

There are plenty of guesthouses, if you google the postcode followed by "guesthouse" you will get lots of choice, the prices are often based on a 3 or 4 night stay though,

Here's where we are staying. Not that cheap, but it the best location I could find. And we've done 11 nationals in a row, so not stopping now.
