I used to own this car, a grey saloon registered 1 December 1957. The DVLA records show the status as SORN. I'd like to contact the present owner to see whether he/she would consider selling it. If anyone knows the whereabouts of this car, or the owner, I'd be very grateful for any information that might help me get a message to them.
Best regards

It might be worth you filling out a V888 form if you have a spare £5, then you could get the address of the current (and previous) owners. You should be able to get this information as you were a previous owner. Worth a try if you don't hear anything else anyway

Further investigations uncovered it was an inside job!!

Re: Trying to find 455 MPD
Forgive me if I am wrong, but the V888 form states
"B. Information about a vehicle that was previously registered, or is registered in your name – the fee is £5. (Fill in sections 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7)"
I've only ever filled one out for one of my currently owned cars, so don't have any experience requesting previously owned vehicle information, so do excuse me if there is a magical DVLA rule I'm not aware of

As stated choice B does say that you can gain information that was previously in your name, though being successful might depend on what information you put in sections 4 and 5.

Re: Trying to find 455 MPD
Thanks for the ideas. I'll try submitting a V888 - the worst that can happen is they'll say no. When I've done it, I'll post the outcome back here as it's something that I can see many people have asked about but it isn't completely clear what's allowed.

Try contacting the MMOC office. 01332 291 675 It may be that the current owner is a member in which case they could pass on your request.
