Anyone know if a mobile would work with a dry battery, of the correct voltage?---and would it last longer that a single charge of the original.?

Thanks for that Richard, it answers my query. It's to do with this phone alarm that I'm setting up, some way from the house. I'm thinking the rechargeable batteries normally used, would run down faster than dry cell and I'd need to visit the garage every day to check. I prefer weekly intervals if possible. I suppose the only way really is to try both options. However thanks again.

The trackers that are about £35 on Ebay can be hidden in the car and charged from the car battery. They can be programmed to alert you if the car is disturbed (started, moved etc) and can also be programmed to sound the horn or whatever.
Only problem, there are tracker jammers advertised on the same site at under £20 which rather defeats the point....!

I think with this security game, you're up against it. A lot of damage can be done just by attempting to steal something. I guess the only solution is to shoot all the bad guys. An interesting thought ---what if there were no bad guys? There would be a lot of things we could do without---police, armies, law courts, prisons, weapons. Maybe there's a conspiracy to keep the bad guy in circulation!

Can you not use a standard car battery that powers an "in car charger" contented to the phone. That would last for months

Steve it would wreck the phone as you really need the battery to go very low every now and then as continuous use wrecks the software and battery .Les Rewire security do a good one on Ebay £60 and you can have it on your computer and on your phone and even limit the speed or turn the engine off and jammers don't work on a satellite programme .The system also alert movement and informs you straightaway so wouldn't wear you battery down unless activated

I've still got my first old mobile, still using it was a source of annoyance to those at work. Which of course made be put off updating for years!
