Been a programme on BBC 4 this evening where some bloke drove along the A303 in a Morris Minor. Was a programme about the hidden history along that road, if I'm not mistaken. Only caught the end of it as I came in from work.

Photo taken at Skaw Beach, Unst, Shetland Islands. The very end of the most northerly road in the British Isles.

Pipkins, had a van this was a Birmingham tv show for kids with a pig that had a strong Birmingham accent.
Used a minor in the titles from 1975.
And here is the van, complete with topoff the monkey flailing about on he roof rack as they drive along.

Happy days

I imagine many of the cars that man drove broke down, bet it was the gearbox he wrecked, I can still hear the noises he made when changing gear?
Fortunately, when Richard Wilson visited Greenway House in Devon, it was ME that did the driving. Admittedly it was a 1947 Leyland bus. I don't think he would even have managed to climb into the cab, let alone drive it!

Great picture. The "E" suffix doesn't go with the rear lighting arrangement does it

Great to see NWL 576, the first Minor, on TV this Christmas Eve. It must have been hired out by the National Motor Museum in 1984. Do they still do that? These are screenshots from Grace Dent’s “What we were Watching 1984” on the BBC.
Cheers to all for 2025!

I think that was the first, or a very early, Miss Marple with Joan Hickson in the title role. If I recall, NWL was used as village taxi and appeared a few times in that episode. It was nice to see it being driven.

Here's one I'll bet most of you have not seen. Not film or TV, a music video-High Hopes from Pink Floyd's "The Division Bell" album, 1994.

Bells AND a Morris Minor! Marvellous since I am both a bellringer and a Morris Minor owner.
