antifreeze

Post by Budgie »

Ok so I know that this subject has had some airing on here recently but I was wondering if someone can answer my query.
The local Home Bargains to me has for sale a litre of "ready to use" antifreeze so my question is how much should I buy to put into my minor tourer? btw it's only 79p :D

If it's ready to use that would suggest it's already diluted, does it say what temperature it protects down to? To use it you would need to drain the whole cooling system and heater then re-fill with the product. Personally I would buy the concentrate and put 50% water/antifreeze mix in - get the blue stuff, not the yellow or orange type used in modern engines.

You would need 6 1/2 pints if it's the ready to use stuff.

Hmmmm checked the bottle today and it doesn't mention anything on the label but it is blue in colour but if I'm gonna need 6 1/2 pints of it I may as well but neat stuff and dilute by the looks of it , thanks for the info tho folks. :D

Much better to buy neat, you can then add distilled water if you prefer, plus you can decide your own mixture ratio.
