Front wings

Hi wondered if anyone can give me any advise on steel wings for the front of my traveller. I wanted to know if pattern ones are any good and if anyone has fitted them or is it best to stick to genuine thanks.

I would always go with heritage. (In fact, I've stuck with good used wings most of the time).
Pattern front wings, in addition to their poor fitting, have a seam down the front of them, which generally rots out in very little time. The remedy there is to weld or load the seam, but not ideal, and pattern are far inferior to heritage panels from what I've seen.

I had a heritage wing fitted after I had a bump and the body shop commented on how well it fitted.

You could try MMOC Spares to see if they have any 'Genuine' wings at the moment - otherwise - as with the others - Heritage.

i saw some new heritage wings and they were nearly hexagonal around the headlight area -and i thought they were supposed to be the best ! i was quite shocked.so it seems neither pattern or heritage are totally correct and pattern ones are about half the price.

Hi many thanks for info will see if can get some good original.I asked a friend of mine who restores minis and he said he had just fitted some pattern and they fitted better than heritage makes you wonder.

Sounds like there's a bit of luck involved with the repro stuff. I did ok with original wings but prep them well before fitting.
