Overrider support bracket - help!

Post by ribs »

Belated Happy New Year to all. I removed the rear bumper, overriders, valance and mounting bar from our 1957 saloon. The bumper and overriders have been repaired and re-chromed. The valance was in a sorry state, so I bought a fibreglass one. Decided to brave the biting winds and refit the bumper, but couldn't see how it all went. Checked the diagram in the Moss catalogue and found that there should be two U-shaped overrider support brackets. It had been bodged to fit without them. I don't want to start chopping about my nice new and recon parts, so I need either two replacement brackets, or the dimensions so that I can make them. Has anyone any for sale - or would some kind person measure theirs and let me know the dimensions?

Ive found that they wont fit once if you are using a fibre glass valence, I had no other option but to leave them out as there just isnt space.

Thanks to the MMOC, I now have a pair of brackets in the post - thanks Steve. When they arrive I shall see how it goes and report back.

I have just fitted a fibreglass valance to the rear of my 61 and I had to do anyway with the brackets, as there (as david said) is no room for them.
