1959 indicator stalk
I've just bought a 1959 convertible the same year as a saloon I owned until recently, the indicator stalk when you turn right almost touches my knee,I see there is a bend in it,the question is can this be swivelled as looking at the car I sold yesterday the stalk should be at 3 o'clock where as mine is more like 20 past position,I've tried twisting it but I'm afraid of breaking it.Ive undone the steering column and turned the column slightly to the left but I don't want to turn it too much incase I lose the self cancelling. Can the bent stalk be twisted back into the correct position?

Re: 1959 indicator stalk
I've seen this before. The stalk is supposed to be angled back towards the driver, but it's swivelled round so it's pointing downwards (as if you were indicating right) when you are not indicating. On my mate's car, the plastic end was held together with sellotape, so he replaced the stalk with one from the spares box. I don't know if you can twist it back into shape, but it's got to be worth a try?
