What IS that black blob of plastic with the two screw terminals ?? And, since you are in electrical mode - have you fitted a secret switch????

Its the ignition switch from the rear - taken out of its normal perch

The early solenoid-less pull start single position switch at that.

So - is that where the dodgy white wire goes ????
