One mans junk is another mans treasure

Post by moggiethouable »

The link is from Matthewsons auctioneers, http://www.mathewsons.co.uk/#!memorabilia/cnmj
I thought some of it may be of interest, there is a minor convertible for sale in the car section too.

That's a shame, however, I think a deal of it will be still available.
I will take a peek next time I pass the premises.

Thanks for the offer Mick, It was purely of general interest.
I was surprised to see so many general items going under the hammer, they were if I recall correctly part of the mini museum and added to the patina of the place.

Dereks bi-monthly auctions have really taken off.Getting busier all the time.He has bidders coming from all over the world.I think the lack of frills tends to keep the prices lower than in the glitzy auctions. He could do with a better online viewing and bidding setup though as I reckon hes missing a lot of potential.I doubt if Thornton Dale has fibre optic though(could be wrong).

Well he clearly tapped a rich vein when he switched to Auctioning the cars, I think it would be good to put a post up nearer the date when the big Rally visits Yorkshire next year, showing his location, it would be a nice trip for any visitors, not least as Thornton-Le Dale is a lovely little village in its own right.
I for my own part am semi local as I live just outside Darlington, I have customers in the Y.O. postcode so make a point of passing and sometimes stopping if something catches my eye.
We used to holiday in the area as kids so theres a little nostalgia for me.
