Traveller Wooden Sill Replacement

Post by nwxh »

The woodwork on the traveller needs replacing, but I intend to patch it up to get another year MOT in order to save up the £3,000 plus extra for any metal repair work undertaken at the same time.

Most of the gaps I will simply file, apply wood hardener and wood filler. However, on the right side, the wooden sill rail has completely rotted. How would I go about attaching a replacement? If I file back and harden the wheel arch wood and B post, can I use a long bolt and T-nut to hold it in place? Many thanks!

PM sent, cheers.

I think the main issue is that I won't be able to simply replace this part and attach it as it is usually attached because parts of the other two posts will be rotten.
