The tasteful tiffany shade has gone now as I've managed to find an original fitting

Lovely vehicle was there one called the Landliner

There was but I'm pretty sure that was only on a Transit chassis, big old bus that was. The Roadranger was usually built on a Commer, Transit or BMC but there were specials. The Landrover that's been mentioned and I've seen one built on an Austin Princess chassis - absolutely gorgeous vehicle

Thanks very much for the pics - some lovely fittings! Bet the Princess ones would be nice, not seen one of those but there was a coachbuilt ambulance in the Grantham Museum before it closed down and I would hazard a guess that that could possibly have been a Jenningsconversion.

There was indeed. As Panky says, it was built on the Mk1 Transit chassis, but by CI Motorhomes and was the most expensive production motorcaravan at the time. Unfortunately the time was the early 70s so its a world of formica covered chipboard and man made fabrics inside... The Jennings looks much nicer inside [frame][/frame]

Er, yes. not quite up to date at the moment. Not sure if the Transit will be staying now I'm rather Commered up - they seem a better size for practical use whereas the Transit is a bit of a lorry if that makes sense...

unfortunately you have not given us any clues as to where you are.........does it look good enough to at least be a potential source of spares?

i'm not far from Leicester.the engine was still there last time i looked.bodywork is shot the owner died some time ago. apparently the JB club Pres. knows of the van.

Wow! much interested in the Morris J location and details if you have any. The one in the picture is a friends, that I've been rebuilding, my own is tucked away in another unit at work waiting its turn, or lots of spare time...

Jury's still out on the transit here. Brought it home the other week and stashed it under the carport for the time being (needed the space at work) and its quite a pleasant thing to drive. Blue Commer is now in pole position at work for tinkering with. Still not managed to get fuel and sparks in the same place at the same time yet....

Yes its the 1st year the Transit Van Club have gone to that meeting (as their annual main event). Previously they went to the classic ford event.

I am a member to the TVC - but didn't make it last year.

aah, the poor thing. I rescued one nearly as bad as that a few years ago, which has now been rebodied as an ice cream van, so everything has potential... Theres some good spares on it too...

I was at Gaydon too. Had a stall next to the Transit club, but not really worth setting anything out with the rain. The organiser refused to take a stall fee too, which was good of him. I just passed on some pre ordered panels and sheltered in the caravan till it brightened up later on. Hope next years will be better and will try and get there in something more interesting than a 20 year old Land Rover.
