Hi,My 66 Minor traveller has been in the family from new.
The bill of sale says cherokee red for the interior so why is it a maroon colour and nowhere near cherokee red.
Its never been reupholstered.
Been to Bulmotive today and they dont have anything close.
Any ideas please.

Looking at the Potteries site info Maroon trim was discontinued in 1956, maybe it was a special order at the time. What colour is your traveller?

Over the years the pigments in the vinyls used by Newton have changed. My Rose Taupe Traveller's original Cherokee Red seats where nearer maroon than the new replacements I fitted which were bright red.

Have just fitted new seat covers and trim to our 54 series II (Maroon) noticed on two panels somebody had hand written a date which was really faded and near to date of production. However the trim taken out was Red where the sun hadn't got to it other parts where of maroon colour. I can only suggest your colour difference might be general dirt and muck collecting over the past 48 years colours from clothing transferring things like that.
