exaust outlets

Hi,

I recently started Morris Minor 1000 because it has been idle while, I noticed at the rear of my car where the exaust pipe outlet there was a very black sooty mark left on my drive, could any one tell me if this a serious broblem or is OK for the engine to do this sort of pollution.

What you are experiencing is perfectly normal and nothing to worry about.

Check spark plug colour in case engine is running rich but probably just soot from starting on choke.

Carefully scrub the drive with hot soapy water - I'm sure it will wash away without any serious problem.
