Jim clark and a Racing Minor?

Post by moggiethouable »

For anybody that missed"jim clark the quiet champion" that was on telly Sunday night on bbc4, it is also on you tube.
The film itself is a terrific piece, but also about 4 minutes in Ian Scott Watson his old pal and the man who introduced him to motor racing is interviewed.
At 4 minutes 45 seconds a picture of the car they raced is shown, is it a modified Morris Minor?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q7opYPJRe1E

It is definably not a modified Minor - possibly a Auto Union Sonderklasse.

Definitely a DKW Sonderklasse. It's even mentioned on the Jim Clark Wikipedia page.

The back end/3/4 view of the estate version of the DKW F8 Meusterklasse (Masterclass) looks just like the rear end of a Minor estate.
