Re: Pretentious Experts
Its not just old cars that get the bodge up. Moderns now fail MOT s if the warning lights don't function,ABS Air bags engine management etc. Although no longer involved in mot work ,by brother still is and he tells me some of the Bodges,IE taking the front of dash panels off to black out led warning lights, wiring the ABS into the oil pressure warning so it goes out with the oil light ,so its not just the old uns among us who know how to bodge

Since the ABS and SRS warnings lamps are timed that particular bodge should never produce an MOT.

Re: Pretentious Experts
My minor van had a rear cross member shaped from an old railway sleeper! which I have to say was pretty rough must have taken him longer to carve than it would have done to stitch a new metal one in.
Here it is (upside down) the notch is where the numberplate light was fitted and obviously the cuts are mine to get the thing out.
