Black spray from exhaust!!!

My Minor is well on the way to being my everyday car, I must admit i was niave at first and thought she would just run perfect after 40 years in the garage…..still not to much money spent and I love it.

Todays problem is;


when I start her up after a damp night (lots of due and guessing lots of condensation in the exhaust) I get a large spray of wet black soot over my drive , it only lasts a a min and the exhaust is fine. anyone please?

Most likely just getting rid of all that built up soot, maybe running rich. Give it a good long blast and see if that shifts it.

Check the spark plugs colour and adjust carb if necessary.

Mine does the same, I put it down to the fact you are starting it rich with the choke on.

i think they all do it mine does on first start up , all our saabs do as well
