Hi,
I'm not sure if this is a mechanical or an electrical problem. The engine
On my Morris 1000 cuts out when stopped/idle. The battery light comes on.
It will restart straight away or if I rev the engine quick enough and the light goes back off. She runs fine,
Unless I have to stop at lights!!
It went 120 miles (round trip) today on her first motorway outing since I bought her. The problem started after this journey.
I have put an alternator in 2 months ago, I have also replaced the front wheel cylinders
And the master last week.
Please help xx

Re: Help! Engine cuts out when stopping!
Welcome to the forum ! I suggest you just lift the idle speed slightly - and of course - don't sit with foot on clutch, which wears out the graphite release bearing -and slows the engine perhaps to the point where it simply stops. You should also optimise the idle settings - swing the dizzy back and forth to find the best setting - and similarly adjust the mixture for best idle, testing with the little lift pin as you do so. It may simply be set a little on the weak side - especially in the cooler winter weather.
