anyone having to pay tax on Minor?
well question is more having a 1964 built car with a 75 registration does this mean we will have to pay tax, according to dvla will be £145!, pretty sure it should go build date? if not is it now a 40 year rolling year on year? meaning next year this wont matter either way?

Goes on build date - same thing as MoT exemption.
Due a refund if you ARE paying tax!

Further investigations uncovered it was an inside job!!

Re: Paying tax on Minor?
I had a 1951 MM that was shown on the V5 as being a 1989 'new' registration by DVLA, but the tax was at the free 'historic' vehicle rate. It did say 'manufactured in 1951' as a note on the V5.

Re: Paying tax on Minor? / Registration Plates Dates
Can we ask the DVLA nicely for a (Manufac) Date appropriate reg number ?
If ES&W first reg in 1976 , do we have to have reflective plates fitted regardless of any reg suffix we may get granted ?
Mind you it will be fun turning up at events in a P reg Minor !
I propose to see If we can fit turnover cube plates to the front, and running a towbar at the back, so obscuring the low reg plate.
Therefore we can put what we think is the Jersey Reg on for off road events (and maintain at rear - anyone got some old white plastic letters (J and some numbers ) - or I can get my local signwriter to do some vynal lettering ) for the rear, I'll take off the rear illumination lights, and fit the UK reg with new light on the O/S rear door. ( is it legal to drive car like that when the rear doors are opened when shifting the bedroom warddrobe and matresses?)
Can I make up my own reg plate using Insulation tape stuck on the appropriate background ( for UK road use - assuming width is correct ?)
