EWD 546 is a 1946 registration number! Is it 546 EWD from 1962?

Or have you missed the year letter off the end of EWD 546? If so, it should be either a 'C' or a maybe a 'K'.

This is the one that was for sale in Llandrindod Wells.

On with that Ser11 Traveller.

Type in Llandrindod on search
Further investigations uncovered it was an inside job!!

It is conceivable that the number was transferred to the Traveller during its life.
Numbers were transferred at local tax offices in the 60's and 70's but not as much as present day.

Be an idea to send POMMReg the chassis number from the plate and/or stamping on o/s of bulkhead, and body number from the n/s front top of bulkhead and he can check the approx build date of the car.

Registered New Years Day 1960, so date fits in. No doubt waited for the new year registration date.

Somebody can correct me if I am wrong, but I think the original colour of the wheels in 1959 was the same as body colour, not white.
If the car is blue, the only blue shown on the paint spec list in late 1959 was 'Clipper blue'. The chassis plate for that model did not carry a code for the colour of the vehicle. Earlier models did.

According to Original Morris Minor, page 72

Feb 1959 to Jul 1960 clipper blue had Pearl Grey wheels, coach line and grill

then from Jul 1960 to Oct 1961 they had Old English White wheels, coach line and grill!

Both had blue grey trim with blue carpet.

We have a saloon from the crossover period :) gone for the white but may put a set of grey on at latter date as anyone got any photos of this combination?
