Ah yes that's fine - and yes these guides are intended to have the top hat seals - and indeed there is one there on the guide !! It IS a 12G940 head - for a 1275 engine.

That's a top hat, on the right hand guide?
I had no idea. So it was done correctly in the first place and I can just reassemble as-is?

Of course - if all 4 seals are present and in good condition!
