Adderley chassis points
Just TWO LCV chassis change points to figure out.
Start point for BL Colour range - last van with "sandy beige" body interior
Start point for Nylon grill surround nuts.
If anyone is able to narrow this down - between 2/68 and 5/69.
Adderley Park Travellers;
First Steering lock/ign & black engine.
Thanks

Re: Adderley chassis points
The book 'Morris Minor' by Paul Skilleter lists the last-of-the-line 1971 Travellers as chassis numbers 1290813 to 1294082, the last Traveller built in April 1971.
I think it was only the last year of production that got the steering column ignition switch.

I've worked out likewise for the Civvy & PO LCVs, bit sad
not knowing the change for Travellers.
This is why I note chassis,body & engine numbers because at least ONE number on a major
change point will begin "xx001".

Re: Adderley chassis points
I'm surprised how you manage Chris, without every Minor book going, they would surly be a boon when undertaking your extensive data project! Especially as a cross reference. Another useful book is ' the original morris minor' by Ray Newell, that has some interesting reading, along with change points, crops up on ebay now and then.

Re: Adderley chassis points
Give this subject a "bump" as I'd like to list the steering lock & black painted engine
change point for Adderley Park Traveller's!
If owners would pm chassis,body & engine numbers of "F" Travellers - stating
whether it has a steering lock/green or black engine - greatly appreciated.
Hopefully another mystery may be solved(?)

Bemused why the LCV Register refuses to help - odd to say the least(?)POMMReg wrote:Ray kindly gave me a free copy when I helped him with the GPO/PO stuff.les wrote:I'm surprised how you manage Chris, without every Minor book going, they would surly be a boon when undertaking your extensive data project! Re: Adderley chassis points
Getting there slowly.....
All pioneering stuff this you know...
If you own a Adderley Park Traveller would you pm its' details;
Plus, whether it has a GREEN or BLACK engine, Neiman steering lock or the traditional
Union Ign.
Thanks

All I know about this bloke is his thoughts on animals-------they should be given equal regard as the human type. Nice to know there are/were, people prepared to accept they haven't got the monopoly on the right to exist. -----Ok everyone back to chassis numbers!POMMReg wrote:All truth passes through three stages,first it is ridiculed,SecondRussLCV wrote:well said Les

Re: Adderley chassis points
1257425 quoted as last Cowley built Traveller
However, prior to the "F" chassis suffix, Adderley Park used "J", the old BMC factory code - "J/M" prefix
on early AddPk LCVs - so was 1257425/6 an exact factory change OR were there Traveller's built at
Cowley with chassis numbers HIGHER than 1257425?
Reference books seem a bit vague on AddPk Minor's.

Wouldn't a time machine be handy in these circumstances.
