why has there been no answer to lee's question
i dont know if the club is going to like this but .....

i was told they paid £700 for the car and all the spares...
which we all know is cheap...
when a morris of this age would fetch around £2000
in that condition...
now waiting for the fallout

Looks like a little transparency is needed. Whose name is going on the V5C as the 'keeper'? If the car is eventually sold, is the 'profit' specifically going into the club's funds, ie. profit and loss A/C and Balance Sheet?

Reading through this, I would have thought full members are entitled to a reasonable explanation, if a sensible question has been asked.

It's quite unnerving that the people in the know are totally ignoring this thread.Gives me an uneasy feeling! What's all the secrecy?Isn't every fee paying member entitled to know all that's happening to this car?Or are there different levels of membership? The silent majority who just pay their fees and the few that decide what to do with them?

The "people in the know" would be Andrew Stone and the other committee members. Andrew has provided what seems to me to be a comprehensive response to Irmscher's questions about what is going to happen to the vehicle.
Isn't every fee paying member entitled to know all that's happening to this car?
As previously stated, updates about the vehicle will be published in Minor Matters to ensure that every member gets the same information at the same time.

Perhaps I'm missing something but looking through the thread, the vehicle was provided to the club by a relative of a deceased member and the question that Samuria and Irmscher are asking, and which hasn't been answered, is what the asking price was. It has always been the case that club business, including financial transactions, will not be disclosed on an open forum, so there's nothing new there. However the club accounts are always made available to club members at the end of every financial year, so no secrecy there either in relation to how club funds are spent.

If Samuria & Irmscher (or anyone other members) require information about specific club financial transactions in advance of the accounts being published the best thing to do, as has been suggested on a number of occasions in this thread, is to contact the club office directly and explain why you need this information. That really is the best way to contact "the people in the know".

well the price for the car and spares was £700 as agreed by the late
owners family.
that is very good for the club.
why it took so long to answer irmscher's
question is still a mystery...

I take it the deceased's family are OK with you posting this info on an open forum Samuria?

The people who were in a position to answer rarely visit here. It's more of a mystery why, if they need an answer to a question which can only be answered by a member of the committee, members just don't simply contact the club office directly :-?

If that's a picture of THE car in Andrew Stone's post - then it looks terrific! :) Was it a saloon - and now with the roof removed ?? If that's not the car - perhaps some pictures of the progress would help...

It's a pre-Z12101, so NO LBM!!
Further investigations uncovered it was an inside job!!

Louise you mention contacting the club and when you do they don't know anything :-? .I agree entirely with what Busguy is saying.I noticed you mention end of year accounts its not going to say purchased vehicles or donated vehicles just a diluted profit and loss and no private and committee personal breakdown of expenditure .I wondered can you tell me what vehicle the club use for picking the spares up ?? as its a question that came up in a meeting

I've always received a helpful response any time I've had to contact the club office. If you send me a pm of who you contacted at the club about your query, when, and what the response was I'll look into it for you.

The club accounts are produced by independent auditors and are in the standard format for business accounts. If you need specific details you will need to contact the club directly.

:o Absolutely no idea. If the query arose at a branch meeting then your branch rep should contact the club through the usual channels, and just a reminder that any comments related to club business should not be posted on the open forum. Also, please consider other board members when posting and keep this thread on topic. Any more comments which are completely unconnected to the original post will be removed. Thank you.

Hi,
My telephone number is published in Minor Matters and I am more than happy to discuss any of the points that have been raised here, if you want to call me. If the office don't know an answer to a question they will normally forward it on to me or Ray if needed to get an answer for you.

The Branch Liaison Meeting is on Sunday, so perhaps you could ask one of your branch reps to raise the question your behalf, as I don't understand what your asking.

I don't get on the Message board that often due to work and other commitments , but will try and respond to comments as and when time permits.

Regards
