Wood between metal and timber of traveller

Post by TheHups »

Hi guys and gals.

Kind of hard to explain but I am pretty sure there should be wood fillets between the rear post and the steelwork which it bolts onto on the chasis etc. Specifically the rar corner floor to pillar bracket. Should these fillets be plywood? What thickness? Should it be treated? Any ideas?

Many thanks

I think I know the bit you mean, will try to get you a photo, but yes, a packing piece should be there, and it is plywood. 1/4 inch should do. I encapsulated mine in West Epoxy, which might be a bit of overkill.
