7"? I am perplexed, does this refer to 33 1/3 ? or EPs? or the old 75 rpm?

Ah thankyou, I play a lot of Vinyl, mostly 33 1/3 as my era was the seventies, Kossoff and all those other blues axemen.
If you are still on the lookout let me know as the missus has some old 45s she sometimes tortures me with, I could sneak em out.

I also have lots of LPs from that era.Led Zep,Pink Floyd,Neil Young etc etc.Still love the music.I remember queuing for Sgt Pepper on release day.Still got that too.In the late seventies I got seriously into HiFi and had the best set up(Thorens,Michell,Linn,Crimso Elektrik,Quad).Used to spend fortunes on getting diminishing returns. There were certain albums we bought to demonstrate the systems capabilities.Sky was one band that took a lot of care in record mastering.Phil Lynott brought out a solo album(SSolo in Soho). He oversaw the mastering and being the bass player made sure the bass cut was prominent. The result was that they had to redo it as most cheap commercial systems couldn't follow the bass groove. The needle would jump out.I still have the original!Suppose it's the same thing with old cars that were ten a penny then,I wish I had kept it all.Been looking around for a good old system lately but the prices are sky high for top gear.

Yes, top gear is even less of a mass produced commodity I suppose.
We have a Bang and Olufsen shop near us, sometimes I pop in just for a giggle.
I use a project deck, they have a pretty good choice but prices aren't sky high, available from Richer sounds .
All my stuff is rack mounted 17" size, but I have the original twin tape dolby unit and sony amp I purchased second hand in 1980, talk about getting your moneys worth.
The multi cd player broke a few years back which was useful because mostly I was repeat buying albums on cd, pointless really.
Its funny but wow, flutter and scratches don't bother me half as much as they used to, my interest has been rekindled a little due to the number of second hand stores selling vinyl, bargains can still be had, also we have a vinyl dealer set up shop in a market stall here in Darlington, I purchased Koss the eponymous double album for £15.00 and here I am 40 years on from hearing it last, when I only heard it once at a friends home.
One benefit of vinyl I think is there is less tendency to flick through tracks with a remote, because of course you cant, this way I am listening again, not glancing with my ears.
Also, some of the album covers are works of art, witness any Roger Dean sleeve, or the way Mans "be good to yourself" album opens up to reveal a pop up map of Wales or "one live badger" opened reveals just that, a badger.Classic

Nice to know there are others with good taste LOL!If you decide to ditch the 45s let me know.I have had some nice donations on here.It takes 80 disks so takes some filling!Original plan was to fill it with Led Zep,Floyd etc singles. But neither released many singles and the prices some were asking on Ebay were ridiculous. Most people are just glad to get rid and free up a bit of space. This jukebox was made by NSM in Germany in the early eighties(company still going),it weighs 125 kilos!Built like a battleship and has a 125w stereo amp with 4 woofers and 2 midrange and 2 tweeters. It was well regarded sound wise.Mind you it plays them vertically so wow and flutter are very noticeable!I remember an accessory that sucked the disk to the platter and a clamp to hold it down!

Talking of records, yesterday I took some stuff to the council tip and in one of the containers there was a pile of 30 or so lp's all in their sleeves. Condition unknown of course.

Well I did flick through one or two, and nearly picked them up but didn't really know what was what, although didn't notice any classics. Agree, there seems to be a strict policy regarding taking stuff now but sometimes I beat the system! :D

you say it takes 80 discs to fill but that leaves b sides that are rarely played , i can put two discs back to back to give two a sides on my 1970 rockola , if they slip a little a bit of blutack inbetween usually cures it

Hi Jim I'm new to jukeboxes and mine's an NSM from the same era.I don't know how the rockola plays the record but are you meaning that you put two records back to back in one slot so the machine picks up both thinking it's one?Might be worth a try on mine.Of course that would mean me having to find more records!Jukebox ownership is addictive I'm already looking for another project if you know of anything.
