Brake question
Hello, I have just changed whole brake system (piping, lines, washers, cylinders). Brakes work well. No leaks. However, when car stands for some time, brake pedal goes to the floor with no braking, and than if used again it's hard again and stays hard. It's coming back when used after some days. Is it the air trapped somewhere, and rebleeding will rectify this problem? Thank you.

Re: Brake question
I suspect the brakes just need adjusting up! Slacken the handbrake cables -then adjust up so all rubbing lightly - only then tighten the cables - and see how that goes.

Re: Brake question
I had a similar issue that you are describing. Eventually I traced the air bubble to the brake light switch -to remove it I had to unscrew the switch to let the air out.
the brakes worked fine with this air in the system, but the peddle went down quite a long way when they were first applied after a period of not being used.

Re: Brake question
Brakes often need bleeding a second time once the air has had time to settle, so to speak!
Glad to be back!
