Re: Newbie question
Yep I got mine from there a couple of years ago, they were on special offer at the time so got them for a lot less than the price shown. I got the heavy duty ones and have used them to lift the front of my Commer PBs several times without a problem so a Minor would be easy. Sometimes I use them without lifting, getting the car that extra few inches off the ground can sometimes be enough. One issue with then is they are quite heavy so if you've got a bad back get someone else to hump them about

Re: Newbie question
Thanks for the link, I may have to wait until they have them on offer again though, that's a bit more than I'd want to pay for them at present.
Best wishes,
Mike.

Re: Newbie question
Hi Panky,
Can you post some more details, what brand, where did you buy it?
Does it have a blocking mechanism?
Thanks

Re: Newbie question
Hi Theo, I got them from CJ Autos as in the link, I think they manufacture them themselves. Yes there is a steel spacer that flicks over to support the rams when the ramps are at maximum height - so you're not relying on the hydraulics to hold the vehicle up.

Re: Newbie question
I just checked the link on Trickydicky's post again and they are not the hydraulic ones. These are the ones I have in the link below

The price has gone up a lot since I got them

Re: Newbie question
That link is to hydraulic ones, looking for wind up ones I found this;
http://www.cjautos.eu/product_p/cl06a.htm
Which looks a terrible way to lift a car of any sort.

Re: Newbie question
They also sell this one:
http://www.cjautos.eu/MINI_TILTING_CAR_LIFT_p/cl03.htm
I found same/similar also for sale in NL, with remark that is could be adjusted for the width of the MM.

Maybe next week I will have a look.

Re: Newbie question
alexmcguffie says never to use the "official" jacking point and not to lift the whole car on the wishbones. If not trying to lift the whole car but just to remove a wheel is it OK to use a scissors or screw jack under the wishbone? Nigel

Re: Newbie question
Looking back at the 1st photo, I would seriously consider replacing that lower front suspension arm.

Re: Newbie question
Not something Ive ever done before .... but why if I may ask?.. and is this the part?? http://morrisminorspares.co.uk/shop/pro ... d76a530a72
Re: Newbie question
The beaten up arm in the picture is in 2 parts, looks like it's the front part that's damaged. The link you posted is for the back part. It's had some abuse in the past but it looks safe enough if you're happy leaving it.
Re: Newbie question
Which part is the front part - does it have a name (as may add to my order of bits and bobs I need).

This is the thin one for the front http://morrisminorspares.co.uk/shop/pro ... d76a530a72

Re: Newbie question
Just had it checked over on Friday for a "mock MOT" and they said everything was fine. Worth getting a coupe in for each side and changing at a future date??
Re: Newbie question
Indeed - but neither bother me.. If they did I'd pay the £300 for brand new refurb of the seats
Then again.. seats in my traveller are fine and dandy.[frame]
