Boot carpet

So I finished work at 4 today and didnt think I had enough time to do any big jobs i have on my list so I fitted my boot carpet I've been wanting to do, bought a big roll of carpet a while ago to carpet the boot and make some floor mats

So far the boot has carpet and tempted to carpet down the back of the rear seat and on the boot lid but still deciding that

I know it's not perfect but the corners shall be covered up so I'm not to worried [frame][/frame]

I had bought an old suit case aswell to use possibly as storage but I'm debating wether it's just to big I wanted to use it for spare parts and tools but think I will just use it for something else and get a smaller case [frame][/frame]

well you can carry a lot of spares in it
i only keep a small take away container with spare plugs, fuses and a small piece of wire
also some spanners thats all
oh and my breakdown card and number in the glove compartment

Oh I know
And yeah well I have a box of spanners and ratchets and sockets in the boot at the mo and that's what I wanted to store I'm just going to keep my eye out for a small case of sort

And ill be getting one of them as well

Various ignition spares, multimeter, adjustable wheel brace,gloves and handle for the scissor jack which is bolted with wing nuts to facilitate removal underneath the wooden boot floor. It leaves plenty of room for shopping etc.

I have always found that if you have the tools in the boot you never need them - so best to carry them with you just in CASE you do.
Mount the spare wheel on the underside of the bonnet (I know it has been done but I do not have the details to hand) and then you will have all that lovely room to store tools where the spare wheel was originally.

Yeah I wondered about the storage bag but kinda wanting something that would still look the part and I already have a tool roll for my metric spanners and ratchet spanners haha

On the underside of the bonnet? Is that not just asking for trouble..... maybe on the outside or underside of the boot lid but not on the bonnet xD

My bag of choice is actually a '43 dated US mechanics tool 'pouch', I can fit quite a bit into it (two cross head screwdrivers, a small and large flat blade screwdriver, coil, bulb kit, condensors, points, leads, torch, selection of combination AF and Whitworth spanners, fuses, disposable syringe, gloves, test light, multimeter, Stanley knife and a small pot of nuts and bolts). This fits snugly to the left of the spare wheel, I'll try and get a pic tomorrow. I also have a 30 cal ammo case with a towrope, small socket set and a backup torch in it, a 'spider' for the wheel nuts, a bottle jack and a warning triangle wedged in on top of the fuel tank, and a spare head, rocker cover and manifold gasket (sandwiched between two bits of ply) and a set of jump leads on top of the spare wheel, and the starting handle laid across the boot floor.
I did wonder about making up some storage boxes for spanners in the void beneath the rear seat base and the floor, but got distracted...

Don't forget to mention the "Ground to Ground" refuelling station that follows you around because your fuel consumption is so high

Well to be honest I was thinking about an ammo case and lining it so it doesn't make loads of noise may have a look in my closest army surplus next time I go into Southampton haha

Ahhhhh well I see what you mean now but is that not a good idea having a can of wd40 under the bonnet?........ And is the fire extinguisher going to be more useful in the cabin so you can reach it :S but either way it's a great idea and does look good
