Hello from me and Roy

Post by iford »

Hi all.
spent many hours on this great site and figured its time to introduce Roy (ROY868E)
A 1967 traveller in Almond Green
Roy has been owned by my brother-in-law since (also Roy) 1986 and has been unused for 13 years.
finally managed to get him to part with it and got it transported from Harlow in Essex the here in Bournemouth.
It has only had one other owner also in Harlow and 20 years or so ago was "restored"??
A couple of afternoons spent getting it going, fuel pump carb points a couple of stuck valves and apart from a timing chain rattle runs OK.
After getting it running time to get it stopping. all the brake cylinders were seized and shoes manky so I replaced all the wheel cylinders and brake shoes plus a few pipes. Totally unable to get a hard pedal changed the master cylinder and hey presto. replaced bottom trunions and renewed all other rubbers. then after a MOT fail rear shocks and leaf springs called for, also a bit of welding to replace floor sills etc. under the passenger door. now with an MOT and back on the road.
Done some tiding here and there but get into it properly during the winter.
It has in the past had lots of welding and replacement panels under the floor and is generally sound.
I can hear eyelids dropping shut so I will end it there for now.
(if all OK should see some pictures)
