So thought I'd tackle my rich running now I have my car starting again
But I have a problem I tried tuning it and well the car just cuts out before I can get to the mixture adjustment and idle adjuster please help I beg you

Turn up the idle speed good and high - then start it. Is the 'choke' fully off? You need to get it up to running temperature before making any adjustments.

But yeah I will give it ago, it was running rich before and just felt I should try and tune it, I waited for it to get up to temp and had no chock on, I removed the air filter. I have a feeling it's because I didn't set the rpm high enough :S as I'm not 100% what rpm the engine is at :S if it helps when it cuts out it sounds like there's loads of fuel bubbling and running around
Had a feeling I shouldn't have got involved with the carb

The carb is v simple - don't panic! If you don't have a Workshop Manual - then Google for it - there are FREE downloads out there..... 'Know-it-all' -errr - far from it! I learn something new every day - two things on a Sunday......

Yeah that's what everyone seems to say is that the HS2 is the easiest and simplest to use but I still stuff it up

Thanks cars running lovely again still a bit rich in my opinion but I guess it's more the carb than the mixture but now found an exhaust manifold blow Haha but she had a professional clean from my friend yesterday he thinks the car has only ever been cleaned with washing up liquid D: so the paint needs more help than a good proper clean

Yeah that's what I thought but not really happy having a mop at it and to be honest the paint needs chips respraying, previous owners non matching paint touch ups and there's a some rust that needs repairing so don't really know if it's really worth t cutting maybe leave it a couple of years and respraying the full car

Where exactly is the rust that needs repairing? ... some spots that look cosmetic on the surface can be more serious underneath ... for example the rear arches - I've had no end of trouble with the minors I have rebuilt with the blooming rear arches (I wouldn't mind so much, but that lead filler is a pain in the bum)

Haha well tomorrow when there is some light I will take a few pics of all the rust that needs sorting it's achually a pretty solid moggy at a whole

Right, these are my rusty spots
These are just surface rust and needs sanding down and redoing

Ooohh - well yes - the front inner wing hole is the worst you show - by far - and will be an MOT fail. So you need that welded up right away. It will also be letting water into the sill area and that will quickly rot out too..... Don't put off welding this as soon as possible ! The rear quarter hole will also be an MOT fail - close to rear suspension and seat belt mounts , so that too needs urgent attention.... You are right - T Cut is not the priority at the moment....
